1996–97 Stoke City F.C. season
The 1996–97 season was Stoke's 97th season of league football and the 34th in the Division One. It was also Stoke's last season at their Victoria Ground.
Overview
The 1996–97 season was Stoke's final season at the Victoria Ground before the move to the new Britannia Stadium. Stoke were inconsistent throughout the season and finished in a mid-table position of 12th. The final game at the Victoria Ground was against West Brom which was also the Stadium's first League fixture. Stoke won 2–1 with Graham Kavanagh having the honour of scoring Stoke final goal at the Vic.
